Our recent Bronx River Pathway project rehabilitated and extended the trail from Oak Street in Mount Vernon to Scout Field in Yonkers, creating a continuous shared-use pedestrian and bicycle path through the Bronx River greenway.

A key challenge was linking the deteriorated pathway south of the Bronx River Parkway/Cross County Parkway interchange with the existing path at Scout Field. The project closes this gap and creates an uninterrupted regional trail through Westchester County.

The 1.3-mile project includes a 122-foot pedestrian bridge with ADA-compliant ramps, terraced natural stone retaining walls along the steep riverbank, and timber guardrails that improve safety while protecting the surrounding landscape.

This southern extension improves access to one of Westchester County's most scenic corridors, enhancing connectivity, accessibility, and recreation along the Bronx River.
