The St. Aloysius Parish campus occupies a 4½-acre site bounded by Maple Street, South Avenue, Cherry Street, and Park Street in New Canaan, Connecticut. Beginning with a master plan, we developed a project that encompassed the design of two new buildings; an education center and a community building.
This project reimagines the parish campus as a cohesive, welcoming environment that strengthens community, faith, and education through thoughtful architectural design.
By consolidating parish administration, enhancing spaces for religious education, and introducing a new education center and social hall, the campus supports the evolving needs of its congregation while fostering meaningful engagement.
A pedestrian-focused courtyard serves as the social and spiritual heart of the campus, unifying its buildings and encouraging connection.
Reconfigured parking and circulation improve safety and accessibility, while the overall design embraces the environmental stewardship principles of Pope Francis' Laudato Si', creating a resilient and sustainable campus that reflects the mission and values of the parish.
Construction is currently wrapping up for the Education Center and is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
